The Bible says that humanity is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26).
God has created you in His image, and in Him we find our unshakable identity: that we are loved.
There is absolutely nothing you could do that would make God love you more than He loves you right now, exactly as you are. You are completely loved.
God’s invitation to you—to every person—is an invitation into relationship with Him. An invitation to get to know Him and experience Him, because He has chosen to make it possible for us to know Him, and He desires to make Himself known. It has nothing to do with your “performance” or your “earning” anything!
When Jesus, the Son of God, walked the earth, He constantly spoke about a new era that had arrived—one that began right then and there and would become increasingly visible in our world. He called it the Kingdom of God. Jesus spoke about a time when we could begin to experience heaven here and now, on earth. That we can reach out our hand and that the Kingdom of God is so close that we can almost touch it.
The sick were healed, and those who were most marginalized and vulnerable were given an identity of worth. People whose lives had been stolen from them had their lives restored. Jesus sets captives free!
Jesus reveals God to us—a God who wants every person to live in true freedom, happiness, joy, peace, and eternal life together with Him.
The words of the Bible are like seeds that land in our lives – some are received and grow; some are received but wither as other thoughts, worries, and desires distract us. Others don’t even get a chance to grow—they are stolen away! And others fall on good soil. They are received, they grow, and they become the beginning of life’s greatest adventure and most precious gift.
Today, if you were to remember just one thing, let it be this:
GOD LOVES YOU.
